Christopher McMurran takes on the role of R&D Director, following a successful 3 years’ tenure as Technical Lead while Graeme Baird, who joined the company as Finance Director in 2022 is promoted to Chief Financial Officer. With an enviable record of delivery, FMS helps its customers create a healthier tomorrow by providing a full range of services including assay development and sensor fabrication solutions.  

Chris McMurran has spent his entire career developing and testing IVD solutions. Having worked for the likes of Merck, BBI, Avacta and Omega Diagnostics in increasingly senior positions, Chris has amassed a wealth of experience whilst successfully commercialising products. Working alongside FMS CSO Donogh FitzGerald, Chris has demonstrated an ability to deliver complexity and manage teams.  Chris said “Working at FMS is incredibly challenging and rewarding. We work with clients from across the globe and help them to achieve their objectives faster and more effectively than they ordinarily would. It is technically very satisfying and I’m looking forward to my expanded responsibilities.”

An experienced finance leader, Graeme Baird has spent a significant amount of time in the life sciences sector with Alere Inc (now Abbott) and BBI Solutions.  Commenting on his recent promotion Graeme said “My experience as a finance professional in life sciences and other technical, or processing, industries will enable me to support the already successful senior leadership team at FMS continue to grow the business. I am looking forward to the opportunity to add value to FMS and the company’s stakeholders.”

Kevin Fallon, CEO added “FMS is already a success story and we get regular feedback attesting to the superior quality of our products and services. However, we never stand still and have set some very ambitious targets. In order to meet our objectives we need to expand the team, and with it the senior management group. Chris and Graeme represent the first of several changes that will crystalise over the coming months.”
